Functional Abilities Evaluations
An evaluation to determine a worker?s functional abilities and limitations in relation to their job demands. This helps employer to find appropriate modified duties for the employee, and saves employer money by returning employee to work as soon as possible, rather than staying off work for a prolonged period of time.
Physical Demands Analysis
Detailed measurement and analysis of all the physical demands of a particular job. Lists all essential and non-essential duties. The PDA is usually kept on record and used for future reference as part of a return to work program. This will help rehab providers to customize the treatment program to the worker?s specific job demands, getting them back to work sooner and reducing the cost of lost time injuries.
Pre-Employment / Post-Offer Evaluations
Evaluation of a potential employee to determine whether or not they can safely perform actual job tasks. This helps to screen out employees who are at greater risk of WSIB lost-time injuries, thereby reducing costs to the employer.
Return to Work Programs
An effective cost-reducing option for employers. An injury rehabilitation program which allows for maximum communication between the employer and rehab providers to safely return injured employees to work as soon as possible. The return to work process is quicker when a PDA and FAE have already been performed.
Work Conditioning Programs
Reduces costs associated with lost-time injuries by specifically conditioning employees to safely perform their actual job duties and allowing them to return to work sooner. This would be considered the best type of transition for a successful return to work. The conditioning program includes strengthening, stretching, cardiovascular exercise, postural re-training, ergonomics education and work simulations. Also teaches workers how to reduce and /or manage their own pain and the difference between 'hurt' and 'harm'.
Employee Stretching Programs
A preventative stretching program taught by rehabilitation professionals with experience in the industrial sector. Can be tailored for small or large groups of employees. Helps to reduce the costs of work-related injuries by teaching workers to properly warm up and stretch job-specific muscles prior to their shift.
